The Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology has published a study showing that sleeping with a pillow with copper oxide fibres reduces wrinkles on the face. This research could open up a new skin anti-ageing field.
Scientists conducted the study over eight weeks with 60 volunteers aged between 30 and 60, 30 of whom slept with pillows containing 1% copper oxide fibres and the remainder with normal pillows. The skin of the participants was evaluated visually and using advanced 3D techniques at the outset, at four weeks and on termination of the experiment. People in the treated pillow group showed a significant reduction in crow’s feet and a marked overall improvement in facial skin appearance, compared to the control group. No adverse skin reactions were observed during the experiment.
