Keeping your skin healthy and looking good does not have to be complicated or expensive. We are bombarded with ads for thousands of products with supposedly fabulous benefits. No doubt many of the claims are real enough. But very simple daily habits can also have an impact on the skin.
Cleansing: Wash your face twice daily with a mild product that removes dirt and makeup. Anti-ageing and other products work better after proper cleansing. Hydration: Shower in tepid water and applying a moisturizing gel with a pH between 4.5 and 5.5. With the skin still damp apply a moisturizing cream or lotion to the entire body. Protection: Always use sunscreen, even in winter. Moisturizers are now available that incorporate sunscreens. Sleep: Sleeping well for as long as necessary keeps the skin terse and fresh-looking. Nutrition: Avoid consuming excess sugar and try to eat foods rich in oleic acid (olive oil and avocados).
